The program

  • Description: HopSlide is an app that gives each user a dedicated US phone number for person-to-person texting. Every message a HopSlide number sends is written by that user, one at a time, to people they choose: one-to-one conversations and small group chats. HopSlide does not send marketing or promotional messages, and users may not use their number for bulk, automated or marketing messages.

How people opt in

HopSlide users

  1. Download the HopSlide app and create an account with email, Sign in with Apple or Google.
  2. Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  3. Choose a number in the app. That number then sends only the messages the user writes, and receives the replies.

People who text with a user

A conversation is between two people who know each other's number. Recipients opt in by texting the user's HopSlide number, or by giving the user their number and asking to be contacted on it. Anyone can stop receiving a user's messages at any time by replying STOP.

No phone number is collected on this website, and nobody is signed up to receive texts from it.

Frequency and rates

  • Message frequency varies with each conversation.
  • Msg & data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan. HopSlide users send and receive over Wi-Fi or mobile data.

STOP, HELP and START

Reply to the number that texted you. Keywords are not case-sensitive.

STOPOpts you out of messages from that HopSlide number. You get one message confirming it, and the number cannot text you again until you reply START. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT work the same way.
HELPReplies with who is texting you and how to reach us. INFO works the same way. You can also email hello@2ndphoneline.com.
STARTOpts you back in after a STOP, so that number can text you again. UNSTOP works the same way.

The replies

After STOP:

HopSlide: You are unsubscribed and will receive no further messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe.

After HELP:

HopSlide: personal texts from a HopSlide user. Help: hello@2ndphoneline.com. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

After START:

HopSlide: You can receive messages from this number again. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
